Pope & Land Responsibilities: Mr. Zimmerman’s responsibilities at Pope & Land include leadership in corporate governance, office and mixed-use development in Metro Atlanta and Charlotte, NC.
Professional Experience: Mr. Zimmerman has more than 35 years of experience in commercial real estate investment, development, brokerage and leasing. He joined the company in 1996 after 8 years with AMLI Realty Co. where he served as a Vice President responsible for AMLI’s portfolio of multi-use properties in Georgia. He has been a Top 5 Producer in multiple categories in the NAIOP Million Dollar Club and Top 5 in Office Leasing for the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors. He is also the owner of Western & Atlantic Development, LLC, a real estate service and investment company.
Education: Mr. Zimmerman graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and has obtained the real estate designations of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
Memberships & Community Service: He is a founding member of the Town Center Area CID and its former Vice Chairman and Chairman. Additionally, he served on the Board of the Cumberland CID from 2003 to 2019 and serves on the Board of Little Five Points CID. Mason has held Board and leadership positions in numerous philanthropic organizations and trade organizations including National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Urban Land Institute (ULI), CCIM, the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Ministries and Gwinnett FCA. He is also the former Chairman of the Town Center Community Alliance and The Council for Quality Growth.
Personal: He and his wife, Shelley, have three adult children and live in Peachtree Corners.
